- Provides individual, group, conjoint or family psychotherapy and support services to children with severe emotional disturbance and their family.
- Conducts clinical assessments, develops diagnoses, and participates in developing person/family centered treatment plans with client families. Monitors client progress and coordinates appropriate behavioral health and other needed services including coordination with appropriate juvenile court representatives.
- Responsible for maintaining an electronic and paper chart which includes required documentation of services provided, progress notes, treatment plans, periodic reviews and client rights documents.
- Participates in individual supervision and team meetings to review progress, identify barriers and develop strategies for better assisting families in reaching their goals.
- Provides 24/7 crisis intervention availability on a rotation basis to help offset potential risk of self-harm or conditions which could lead to out of home treatment.
- Ensures that paperwork is maintained in accordance with funder requirements as well as Easterseals policies and procedures.
- Responsible for assessing, reviewing all requests for services and authorizing medically necessary services for all consumers. Only implements therapeutic modalities approved by Easterseals Michigan.
- Demonstrates knowledge of principles of trauma informed care and co-occurring disorders.
- Willingness to support and assist consumers with trauma related issues.
- Ensures that all individuals served caseload have CAFAS/PECFAS completed quarterly.
Qualification:
- Master level clinical license required.
- Must meet qualifications of a Child Mental Health Professional (CMHP) and/or Mental Health Professional (MHP) per the Michigan PIHP/CMHSP Provider Qualifications per Medicaid Services.
- Possess a valid motor vehicle operator or chauffeur's license; AND
- Possess a knowledge and understanding of co-occurring disorders (mental health & substance abuse); AND
- Must possess/obtain 24 documented training hours relative to Child Diagnostic Treatment Services (CDTS) within 3-months of employment AND maintain 24 documented training hours relative to CDTS annually thereafter (within any 12-month period); AND
- Must be CAFAS Certified within the first 3-months of employment and maintain
