ABOUT WEB ACCESSIBILITY
Web accessibility is essentially a set of rules, behaviors, code standards, and design guidelines that were created by the W3C and are called the WCAG 2.1.
The WCAG 2.1 is a massive 1,000-page guidebook that encapsulates a range of disabilities that go from hindering internet use to making internet use impossible without adjustments. This spectrum actually comprises 20-25% of the general population depending on if we're going with the CDC or WHO. There are many disabilities covered, and the primary categories that require attention are:
blind people using screen-readers,
the motor-impaired using only the keyboard to navigate,
epilepsy, color blindness,
cognitive and learning disabilities,
visual impairments, and more.
There are legal implications to these requirements and we will cover if they apply to you and how you can navigate them easily.

SPEAKER
Steve Hyer President @IGD Solutions Corporation
Steve Hyer has a great passion for helping others and making the community and the world a better place to live and raise a family. IGD Solutions was founded by Steve in 1999 as an educational content company and that quickly transitioned in 2000 to a company that did website work for other companies just as the Internet and World Wide Web were becoming popular in the mainstream. Steve chose Clarkston, Michigan as the place to locate IGD Solutions because of the close knit, but yet still welcoming community. Under Steve’s leadership, IGD Solutions has diversified its offerings, gone through four successful acquisitions, and reached and maintained profitability. Steve has always stressed the importance of speaking plain English and relating everything we do as a company back to the business benefit of our customer. Always putting the customer first and truly taking care of our customers’ needs allowed us to grow a very large and successful base of long term customers.
