District
Rep. Andrea Schroeder was first elected to serve the 43rd District in the Michigan House of Representatives in November 2018. The 43rd District encompasses part of Oakland County including part of Waterford Township, the city of Lake Angelus, the village of Clarkston and Independence Township.
Committees
Rep. Schroeder is a member of the Energy and Rules & Competitiveness committees.
Education
Schroeder attended Farmington Public Schools, earned a Bachelor of Science in child studies/early childhood education from Miami University, and did graduate coursework in education at Wheelock College in Boston.
Professional
Andrea is a former teacher and senior sales executive and currently operates a successful consulting business.
Public Offices and Affiliations
Schroeder served as an elected member of the Independence Township Board of Trustees since 2012. She served as Vice Chairman of the ACE Academy and previously served as a legislative liaison on the state boards of the Michigan PTA and the Michigan Association for Gifted Children. She is also the Vice President of the Clarkston Area Optimists and member of the lake board for Lake Oakland and has been honored with the President’s Volunteer Service Gold Award from the Points of Light Foundation. She was also appointed by Gov. Snyder to two terms on a state regulatory and licensing board (Cosmetology). Proud recipient of the Distinguished Service Award from Clarkston Community Schools. President of the Clarkston Area Optimists.
Personal
Andrea and her husband Mark have three children.
