The Fed Community defines relaxed, sophisticated and inspired dining. We are looking for a qualified General Manager to join us in providing great service & hospitality in our award winning "local" restaurant.
MISSION
Responsible for restaurant culinary operations and to ensure restaurant team delivers exceptional service experiences to our Guests while exhibiting Fed Core Values of Family & Community, and Hospitality Standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES & SKILLS
· The Executive Chef Partner is responsible for leading a team of culinary professionals that deliver high-quality, great tasting food
· Maintains & ensures proper food safety and sanitation procedures and profitability.
· The Executive Chef contributes to building top line sales and guest count through the delivery of a competitively superior team member and guest experience.
· The Executive Chef provides culinary development for new menus & menu items in conjunction with owners & general manager
· The Executive Chef ensures all menu items are executed with excellence in the restaurant.
· Create a learning and nurturing environment for all Restaurant Team Members that promotes sales and service success, and internal career growth.
· Develop and implement strategies to increase qualified applicants, including but not limited to proactively recruiting outstanding hourly associates.
· Thoughtfully hire, develop, and mentor the team.
· Maintain appropriate staff levels.
· Minimize employee turnover rates by focusing on hiring qualified people, taking time to effectively orient new employees, set clear performance expectations, train, coach, and give constructive performance feedback.
· Facilitate implementation of company learning/training programs, follow-up and monitor performance to ensure transfer of learned skills on-the-job.
· Cultivate an environment of open, authentic dialogue with the restaurant team, (D.O.) & Owners.
· Practice proactive performance management in partnership with the D.O. & Owners to ensure adherence to employment policies and procedures.
· In partnership with the D.O., assist employees with career development strategies to improve employee retention and build bench strength.
· Manage restaurant expenses ensuring budgetary compliance.
· Ensure consistent execution of Company policies and procedures.
· Develop/streamline restaurant processes in partnership with the D.O. and/or the accounting support team.
· Manage payroll hours to budgeted payroll percentage. Utilize Hot Schedules for sales forecasting, scheduling & measurement of labor controls.
· Incorporate and administer applicable safety programs for the restaurant, employees, and guests.
· Communicate Fed Community lifestyle through brand execution, both visual and experiential.
· Ensure employee appearance appropriately reflects The Fed Community brand image.
· Manage upkeep of physical restaurant in partnership with the management team & owners.
· Responsible for embracing, articulating, and reflecting the The Fed Community Culture.
· Influence the team to embrace, articulate, and reflect Fed Community Core Values of Family & Community.
· Commit to maintain the culture through the evolution of the business.
· Manage team meetings as needed. Ensure restaurant programs are consistently communicated and executed.
· Be receptive to feedback and coaching.
· Possess complete knowledge and enforcement of all food and beverage menus – including ingredients, preparation methods, and presentation.
· Practice proper operation of the point-of-sale system.
· Extremely strong leadership skills, interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills, listening skills, ability to check for understanding after direction is given (follow up,) basic math skills, strong organization skills, ability to multi-task, team builder, proven track record of increasing experience and responsibility.
· Computer based skills - Windows and Microsoft Office based management reporting, Point of Sale System, Internet/Intranet, and Outlook e-mail.
EXPERIENCE, TALENT AND EDUCATION
· Minimum 3 years hospitality experience in an Executive Chef / Kitchen Manager position
· As head of kitchen operations in a high-volume upscale restaurant, the Executive Chef must have a strong passion for culinary excellence and service
· Must have a proven ability to develop team
· Knowledge of systems, methods and processes that contribute to great execution Stable job history which demonstrates upward career progression
· Must show significant Leadership experience
· Bachelor’s Degree preferred, High School diploma
· Must have Serv Safe Food & Serv Safe Allergan certifications as required by federal/state/local law
· Familiarity with TOAST & Open Table reservation system preferred
