Full Job Description

Banquet servers work as part of a team to serve food and beverages at events. They are involved in all aspects of the event, such as setting up tables and chairs, folding napkins, serving guests, attending the buffet, clearing dishes, and setting the room for the next event. These individuals may also be required to perform basic kitchen tasks as needed. Banquet servers must be courteous and responsive to the needs of guests, ensuring guests are properly served. Hours may vary, although evening and weekend events are common. Banquet servers must be prompt, courteous, and able to work well as part of a team. These individuals need to be energetic, as they spend most of their shift on their feet in a fast-paced environment.


  • Represent The Captain’s Club at Woodfield and reflect a positive image to outsiders.
  • Arrive to work on time in proper attire with a name badge. Proper attire requirements are ironed black dress shirt, ironed black dress pants, black tie, proper all-black dress shoes, and a black belt. Hair must not touch your shoulders if so it must be tied back.
  • Upon arrival, employees are responsible for reviewing the event sheet to become familiar with the event and any special instructions.
  • Responsibilities may include:
  • Set tables in proper banquet style with forks, knives, water glasses, butter plates, napkins, salt, and pepper. Using only polished and presentable items.
  • Fill coffee and hot tea urns, refill creamer, sugar, and tea selections
  • Break down and separate linens, remove all plates, glassware. Clean and store in proper areas.
  • Maintain guest tables throughout the event along with completing side work.
  • Attend buffet-style events or assist in serving meals during plated events.
  • Assist Banquet Manager in closing procedures including move tables and chairs to set up for the next event.

Additional Information

  • Previous serving experience ideal but not necessary.
  • Must be available evenings and weekend hours year around.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $9.00 - $12.00 per hour
